Frequently Asked Questions

Why design subscriptions?

Why not? Truth is, the needs and requirements of your company are always changing and it’s our job to make you look good and your customers happy in the most frictionless way possible. We’re done wasting time over drawn out contract negotiations or numerous complex scoping meetings. Pay us and we’ll get to work. Simple.

Why to choose fixed pricing over a design subscription?

If you need two or more full-time resources for a scoped project longer that 3, 6, 9 months or more you might want to discuss a fixed project. We’ll integrate directly with your team and tools and help lead your project to launch. We can even switch to a design subscription to provide ongoing design support after.

Is there a limit to how many requests can be submitted?

Nope. Our team will work on 1 request (Design Subscription) or 1-2 concurrent requests (Design Plus Subscription) throughout the course of your subscription. You’ll be able to request as many tasks as you want and change the priority of those tasks at anytime. When one task is approved, we’ll move on to the next item in priority order.

If you have a large contained project with fixed deadlines and need all hands on deck, fixed project pricing may be right for you.

How fast are requests completed?

Typically we aim to complete tasks within 1-3 business days, but it depends on the requirements of the request. Our flexibility and open communication mean we’ll work with you to break down larger requests into smaller tasks that we can deliver more frequently if necessary.

While a set of UX flows or mobile screen designs may be delivered in 1-3 days, a 2-4 page website may be delivered as wireframes, style boards, content, responsive layouts, and final screens over the course of a month.

Who is doing the work?

LoneUX is a team of 3 design partners with design expertise in a variety of overlapping disciplines, with a contract network of experienced senior contributors of all kinds. While one senior designer or partner may work on any given request, we ensure all partners have eyes on the work throughout the process to ensure we’re delivering the highest quality work.

What programs do you work with?

Primarily, design work is carried out in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc), and Webflow, but we’ll work to ensure final deliverables are returned in the format required for your team.

How does payment work?

In two ways. We can send you a link to our payment flow through Stripe, where you’ll set up reoccurring payments with a credit card. Or we’ll send monthly invoices directly to your accounting team to setup payment however they like it.

If a payment fails or an invoice isn’t fulfilled, we’ll automatically pause your subscription and work with you to resolve the issue before continuing work.

What does the design subscription process look like?

After a video call with our team, we’ll send links to a point of contact’s email address where they can get setup in a shared Trello board and Slack channel with our team. From there, requests can be made directly in Trello or Slack. Requests can be then be prioritized and moved around the Trello board by the group. We’ll deliver the request for an asynchronous review over Slack. Then we can send final deliverables anywhere you want; Slack, Trello, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, email, or otherwise, before starting on the next task in priority order.

If necessary, we can schedule a video call to discuss requests further. And of course you can pause or cancel at any time.

How many hours of your time am I getting?

While we don’t price hourly, it’s about equivalent of half-time resource split between senior contributors and LoneUX partners.

If needed, we can meet to discuss scaling up 2x, 3x, or more; or switch to a fixed priced project when necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game.

What if I’m unsatisfied with the final result?

Then we’re not satisfied either. We’ll iterate on the request until you’re 100% satisfied before we move on to the next request.

How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

If paying with Stripe, you’ll be able to cancel your subscription at anytime here.

Otherwise you can pause and cancel via a form we'll provide you once subscribed.

What is your refund policy?

Due to the nature and quality of the work we don’t provide refunds.
